1. Aspirin in dogs

My 10 month old aussie/lab mix has an intermittent limp and was prescribed one adult aspirin now and then to help with the pain. But she gets really wired and anxious when we give it to her. She's had it three times so far, took us that many doses to realize there was a connection. I asked our vet office and checked the dosage with them and mentioned the reaction and just sort of got a hmmmm, never heard of that. At first I thought maybe she was just feeling better but she goes beyond just being more energetic to anxious and pacing, she acts like a coffee drinker that has over-indulged. I even panicked and checked the label to make sure I didn't mess up and get the kind of aspirin that comes with caffeine! Long explanation for a short question - have you ever run in to this reaction to a dog taking aspirin?

2. Express anal glands

Our shar-pei, Bruno, has lately been not keeping his tail up & I'm concerned his health is failing. He used to always keep it raised. He seems happy & active & all other attitudes are the same. What could the reason be? Thank you

3. Painful dog, osteoarthritis and quality of life

I have a thirteen and a half year old chi-mutt. She has arthritis, confirmed by a vet, the vet already had x-rays, an office visit, and meds (rimadyl). The Rimadyl had side effects for my dog. I took her off. She is on DS Glucosamine/Chondroitin, and an aspirin a day. She is in pain all the time, elimination in an upright position is nearly impossible. I have to spoon feed her. She is eating and drinking, no problem. I am concerned that the weakness in her hind legs is so bad. Her quality of life is not too great. What can I do for this stage of her life to allow her to be more comfortable?
