Hi, I have a 5 year old male beagle (fixed) who I think has developed separation anxiety. We recently relocated to NM from Illinois and it has been a big transition for us all. Whenever we leave the house, he pees & poops in the house and gets in to the garbage. He is also extremely upset when we get home. Not just excited to see us, he's howling and crying like we've been gone for days and we were only out an hour or so. We adopted him when he was 3. He's not crate trained but has always been well behaved and house trained. The garbage is an easy fix, I'll move it, but I sure could use some advice to help get him adjusted to our new home.
I have just adopted a terrier which is very frightened of cars, small dogs, and I think women. He seems to be more at ease with men. I am making him do things he doesn't want to(like ride in cars) and talking to him all along Is this the best way to get him over his fright?
I just adopted a 7 year old long hair chihuahua, I was told he was house broke but am finding he is not. What can I do??????????
I have a 9 month old terrier mix. She's incredibly hyper. She has a huge backyard and an eleven year old boy to play with, so she gets lots of exercise. Is there anything you can recommend to calm her down?
I have 3 English Pointers (9-11years old) all sweet and playful - on leads if they see another dogs they begin to bark and bark and get somewhat agitated - wanting to play - it is challenging and overwhelming for the walker and the other dog/people as my dogs approach them - I tried a sonic collar with no avail and I don't want to use a shock collar - any advice - thank you
i have a 6yr olde cat and i was thinking about getting another will my cat become jealous?
Hi
I'm about to get a new dog I am getting from someone, in other words this was a rehoming situation and not an adoption from a shelter. I am looking for advice on how to make this rehoming process simple. Me and the dog's current owner aren't sure how to make this process as easy and stress free as possible for the doggy. I have been told to have the dog spend a few days with me but spend the nights at her original home and I have been told to do it in one day to reduce confusion about where she will be living, and many other things. I'm just not sure what to do. What is the easiest way to make the transition from the original owner's home to my home???
Here is some information about the little puppy if it helps:
She is a 1 1/2 year old female deer chihuahua, extremely loving and sweet. She is just the friendliest happiest dog ever, she loves people and other animals. She has been with her original owner since she was about 6 weeks old. She is an absolute joy to be around and just the funniest little dog ever. Always happy and willing to love and give millions of kisses
Thanks for your help
Ellie

I have an 8 year old spaniel mix, and he can be a little over protective of me really when I was pregnant with my kids, never thought anything about it but now that he is getting older he seems to get agitated quickly and bothered. My oldest daughter was push on him and he tried to bite her and instead he scratched her hand instead of biting, then he got out of the yard and I chased him down only to have him growling and acting as though he was going to attack me. I know at times they can get cranky in older age, but should I worry enough to get rid of him I don't want to but again I have two small girls and if I cant trust him that's a very big problem. Is there something we can do to make him understand we are not out to hurt him or have him comfortable around us as he use to be. He has went to classes before to calm him down. Thanks so much!
hi..my cat hasnt been using his litter box lately,,and tonight he peed in a garbage bag, and it had blood mixed with his urin..im worried. thanks
Hey Lauryn how are you doing???? Well i had a question a lady that i work with has this dog who is about 10 or 11 years old and he has anxiety problems and destroys everything while he is home alone. Is there anything that she can give him to calm him down? She already gives him something but it just doesnt do anything he still goes crazy. She tried to crate him, but he chews teh rate till his mouth is all bloody. I hope you have some ideas of what she can do.
I hope you are doing well! tell the family that i say hi and we miss them all.
We adopted a stray a few months ago. Here lately he has been peeing in the house...which never use to happen. He'll do it when we play w/ him inside or outside...he will even pee on us while we are playing. It's like he gets too exicted and has to. His pee has a much more strong odor than our other dog. Could there be something else wrong?
I just moved to a new apartment and my little 4 month old pit-mix is crying again like she did when we were at the old place. She did eventually stop there but started again. Is there anything I can do to help make the move earier on her too?
Thanks
