I have an almost 8-year-old basset hound. She had the sweetest disposition when we got her at 6 weeks of age. We had a vet who held her down to cut her nails and ended up cutting her and now she is scared to death of men. Is there any way, after all this time (she was 6 months old when this happened), to get her where she likes men.
I have just adopted a terrier which is very frightened of cars, small dogs, and I think women. He seems to be more at ease with men. I am making him do things he doesn't want to(like ride in cars) and talking to him all along Is this the best way to get him over his fright?

i have a 3 year old female jack russle/ italian greyhound mix. we just got a 7 week old male pit bull and brought him into the home. the female is deffinetly scared of the male and often drools and foams at the mouth. she will not go near him at all. i understand the foaming and drooling is most likely a stress and fear symptom so im not worried about that. is there any way i can get her to open up to him or is this a lost cause?
why do dogs sit next to your feet?
My dog is 4 yrs., old and a Aussie Shepard/American Bull Dog. His name is Zero. He's lived with us for 4 yrs., and is afraid of my father. My father is 74 and extremely kind and loving to our dog and we can't figure out why, after all this time, he continues to be this way towards him. When I'm home Zero will growl and run from my dad but when I'm out, Zero will go in my sons room, get on his bed but will allow my dad to hug and kiss him without growling. We don't know what to do. Can you help?
