I have 3 English Pointers (9-11years old) all sweet and playful - on leads if they see another dogs they begin to bark and bark and get somewhat agitated - wanting to play - it is challenging and overwhelming for the walker and the other dog/people as my dogs approach them - I tried a sonic collar with no avail and I don't want to use a shock collar - any advice - thank you
I have recently adopted a 4 1/2 year old male boxer. He is not neutered but has an appointment tomorrow. My husband is trying to make me feel bad about having it done; he has gone on to tell me how painful it is and how bad he is going to feel. I know its the right thing to do the dog has aggression toward other animals and bolts out the front door at any chance he gets. Then it impossible to get him back. Do you have any advice on how not to think I am doing something horrible to my dog? I do have a female that We had spayed but she was 5 1/2 months old when it was done. My husband says we have waited to long and now its just wrong. I know this is short notice but I need some advice.
One of my dogs got bit on the inside of his ear. It has since become swollen and is draining fluid from the cut. I went to my vet and they said it was a oral "hematoma" nt sure if the last term was the one they used. They wanted to do surgery that would cost about $700.00. Do you have any experience with this type of injury? Any info would be helpful.
I have an 8 year old spaniel mix, and he can be a little over protective of me really when I was pregnant with my kids, never thought anything about it but now that he is getting older he seems to get agitated quickly and bothered. My oldest daughter was push on him and he tried to bite her and instead he scratched her hand instead of biting, then he got out of the yard and I chased him down only to have him growling and acting as though he was going to attack me. I know at times they can get cranky in older age, but should I worry enough to get rid of him I don't want to but again I have two small girls and if I cant trust him that's a very big problem. Is there something we can do to make him understand we are not out to hurt him or have him comfortable around us as he use to be. He has went to classes before to calm him down. Thanks so much!

My dog is 4 yrs., old and a Aussie Shepard/American Bull Dog. His name is Zero. He's lived with us for 4 yrs., and is afraid of my father. My father is 74 and extremely kind and loving to our dog and we can't figure out why, after all this time, he continues to be this way towards him. When I'm home Zero will growl and run from my dad but when I'm out, Zero will go in my sons room, get on his bed but will allow my dad to hug and kiss him without growling. We don't know what to do. Can you help?
